This discipline originated from the two undergraduate majors of radio physics and semiconductor physics and devices established in 1958, and obtained the master's degree authorization in radio electronics in 1984, adjusted to circuit and system in 1997, and obtained the master's degree authorization in microelectronics and solid state electronics and physical electronics in 2005, and obtained the first-level master's degree authorization in electronic science and technology in 2010. The discipline now includes four secondary disciplines: physical electronics, microelectronics and solid state electronics, circuits and systems, and electromagnetic field and microwave technology.
