Radio physics is one of the secondary disciplines under the first-level discipline physics. Radio physics adopts the basic theory, method and experimental means of modern physics and electronic information science to study the basic law of the interaction between electromagnetic field and wave and its matter. On this basis, new electronic devices and systems are developed, new theories, methods and technologies of information transmission and processing are developed and popularized in electronic systems. Modern high-frequency and high-speed electronic technology, space and urban wireless communication, optical fiber communication and computer communication, wireless technology, radio and television, space global remote sensing, computer technology, electronic information computer technology, optoacoustic-electrical coupling technology, electromagnetic compatibility technology are all closely related to and based on radio physics.
Northwest University Radio Physics now has a total value of more than 40 million yuan of equipment and software, including X-ray diffraction ( XRD ), atomic force microscopy ( AFM ), thin film tester, PL spectrum, blade server, magnetron sputtering, MOCVD, PECVD, HFCVD, three vacuum chamber evaporation platform and a number of important equipment, which can complete electromagnetic sensitive materials, quantum secure communication, antenna and electromagnetic wave propagation, ultra-wideband electromagnetics and its applications, new microwave devices, electromagnetic theory and its applications, computational electromagnetics and its applications. This subject includes scientific research institutions such as microelectronics technology research institute, automatic identification research institute, virtual instrument technology research institute and embedded engineering center.
